Folks,
we did it. In eight hours (excluding an half-hour lunch break), we conceived, created and promoted a full-fledged golf hypnosis product. What started out as a freakish idea has become a reality in less than a full working day.

Niels provides a small behind-the-scenes tutorial (in German) about how he used Audacity for editing the golf hypnosis audio file.
Marketing copy nearly finished, product images ready, still working on final product. Estimated launch time: April 6 at 6 pm!
The cover art for CD production is finished, and this was the first time I deviated from out low-budget plan. I used Photoshop CS4 (on a Mac) for the CD mock-up and InDesign for the CD cover art. I use those applications nearly every day, so I’m more proficient with them than with free alternatives. If you prefer free or low-budget software, you might have a look at Pixelmator or The GIMP for bitmap manipulation, InkScape for vector editing. They work just as well for producing those kinds of media necessary for our product.
Niels is now continuing to record his promo video, and I’m off to lulu and friends. See you there!
Six hours after we started, it’s time for a quick re-cap. At this moment, we have:
Niels is still remixing the hypnosis track and starting work on the sales copy. I have finished set-up procedures at lulu and Payloadz and I’m now waiting for Niels to finish with the copy and his promotional video.
After that, we’re going to put it all together on a single web site and start attracting customers. Stay tuned!
You don’t need a full-fledged ecommerce solution to sell one product. (For my clients and their large ecommerce sites, I’ve fallen in love with Drupal+Ubercart and Magento hosted on Linode, but even Linode’s lean & mean machines would be too much for our current one-day project.)
For hosting and selling our golf hypnosis CD, we evaluated a couple of providers and settled on Payloadz for hosting the MP3 and lulu for physical CD production and fulfillment.
So while Niels is still busy recording & mixing the audio (using Creative Commons licensed music by Kevin MacLeod), I am setting up the product hosting services and payment gateways. See ya!
Photo mock-up of CD product is finished and ready to be uploaded to the websit… oops, we don’t have a product website yet! After recording is finished, the web site will be set up, so stay with us.
Niels just finished writing the hypnosis script and is now going to record the left ear track, while I’m preparing to record the right ear track. (Using a BlueMic Yeti, by the way, a low-budget high-quality mic.)
In the meantime, I finished the CD cover and inlay artwork. When recording is done, we will start writing the marketing copy, so stay tuned!
Finished the first mock-up of the cover art for the CD, and decided on a product name: Perfect Putting: A Smooth Hypnosis Session. Swell enough?
When we set out to launch & market our product on one day, we wanted to keep our budget as low as possible. Until now (10.30 am), we spent a whopping zero Euros by exclusively using free services
While Niels is writing the hypnosis script for our product (on his free text editor, of course) and searching for (again, free) music, I’ll be off to browse the Creative Commons for (free) artwork to be featured on the product packaging. See you then!

Please note, though, that this one-day event the current endpoint of long years of experience in personal coaching, hypnosis, golf coaching, and online marketing, for without this experience we wouldn’t be able to pull this off in just one day. On the other hand, if you are an expert in any field, you will be able to do the same we did today with your own products.
